Do you reread?

This set comprises of a book from my childhood, 4 books I found in my (entirely brilliant) high school library and one gem that I found in an opshop during a workday lunch break ☺️

charl08 Loved the Blyton as a kid. Diana Wynne Jones I read thanks to a great school library. Such a fun series: I've started to listen to them again recently. 4y

Cut off from Crumpets! The sequel to Castsway Christmas, this wasn‘t a Christmas story - but it was another disastrous holiday for the Ridley family - with them getting snowed in, the pipes freezing up and various other minor calamities. Quite the cozy tale. And it seems there is a third book (which I have tracked down)

LeahBergen That title! 😆 (and I still need to track down a copy of Castaway Christmas - I‘ve had it stacked from one of your first posts about it!). 5y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @LeahBergen, also that cover 😂 crumpets only get mentioned once but it‘s a good title! You really should, it‘s an excellent book, I‘d only put off reading this one because I thought it was a Christmas story. 5y

I loved this, again! It very well could become a December staple! This year I noticed that there is a sequel which (doesn‘t have as cute a cover but) I managed to find with the power of the internet ☺️

(Read in early December- posting late)

LeahBergen This looks amazing. 😍 6y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @LeahBergen, it is! Possibly the best book I‘ve found in a charity shop! 6y

Delightful in the way that Enid Blyton adventure stories are. 3 kids travel to meet their parents at a rented country house for Christmas, they arrive before the floods but their parents are delayed and are then unable to reach them. They struggle with no electricity, a limited food supply, staying in dry clothes and keeping cheerful - as the water levels rise but they are resilient and manage to work out how to keep themselves and the house safe.

LeahBergen And a bull terrier! This looks awesome. 😀 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @LeahBergen, called Oliver Cromwell 😂 7y
LeahBergen Really?! Aw, man. Now I need it! 😂 7y

I'm not great at sticking to monthly TBR piles but I've been thinking about Christmas books for months... #tbr #seasonsreadings2016

[Olaf hit the floor a mere second after this photo was taken. Book pile was heavier than expected 😅)

Krysta I spent so much time trying to think of Christmas books to read this month - I should have just asked you! Great list! 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Krysta, I work in a library so I'm exposed to lots of books 😂 7y
Reviewsbylola I don't typically read Christmas books but I am reading A Christmas Carol right now (my first time 😳😳) and there is a Christmas book I plan on borrowing from my mom when she finishes it. 7y

Krysta @thegirlwiththelibrarybag That is so lucky! I teach at a high school so I read lots of classics over and over and over again... how awesome to be exposed to such a variety! 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Reviewsbylola, A Christmas Carol is a good one (some of his books are crazy long, maybe because of how they were originally published?) and it's been adapted many times into movies and tv shows... happy reading! 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Krysta, it is but sometimes I dream about catching up on my tbr pile... 7y
Krysta @thegirlwiththelibrarybag My tbr is ridiculous... and I do.mot work in a library! 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Krysta, I bring home way to many books - more than I have capacity to read 🤔 and then occasionally I overwhelm myself and end up reading nothing - so I end up taking heaps back, unread. 7y
Krysta @thegirlwiththelibrarybag That would be disheartening! 7y
