It‘s an at home sick day. It‘s super rainy and cold. The ground is populated by dead leaves. On a positive note the geraniums are still alive. For how long I don‘t know. Snow is expected tomorrow night.

Sace I hope you feel better soon! 4y
Branwen Feel better soon, friend! 💕 4y
Tamra Get better! Be like those super tough geraniums. 💪🏾 4y

RAIN DAY! No work today, they've even closed the schools due to the downpour! It's torrential, police are advising everyone to stay home. Crossing fingers that flooding will be minimal 🤞🏻

Now, whatever will I do today? 🤔😄📚

rach_simone Stay safe and dry! 7y
AlaMich Are rain days common for you? 7y
Sarahreadstoomuch Wow! Whereabouts are you? I've had snow days and ice days, but never rain days!! 7y

Marchpane @AlaMich Not at all, it's quite unheard of! These weather conditions are the remnants of a scary cyclone that hit further north a couple of days ago. 7y
Sace Yikes! Stay safe! 7y
Marchpane @Sarahreadstoomuch It's very unusual, even here. I'm in Brisbane, Australia. 7y
CherylDeFranceschi Stay safe and dry! 7y
Sarahreadstoomuch Yikes! Stay dry & take care! 7y
MrsMalaprop What a concept! Sorry Queensland has been hit so badly by the cyclone and yes, hope the flooding is not too bad. But in the meantime 📚👏☔️☕️🛋📖. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Wow! It must be bad for a rain day!!! Take care, and enjoy reading while you stay dry. I tip from the States where we get bad snow/ice storms some days. Charge all your devices now, so you can still read on your phone app or kindle, etc even if the power goes out. I usually read a physical book during the daylight hours and save the charged devices for the evening or not so light hours. (edited) 7y
Marchpane @MrsMalaprop I guess the one "good" thing about Cyclone Debbie is that it's such a slow moving system & that gives people time to take precautions. We really don't want anyone stranded by flooding! 7y
Marchpane @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Thanks for that advice! I've gone around the house plugging in every device I can find! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Marchpane You are very welcome. Plus if the new book I want to read is archived or clouded, make sure it's downloaded to the device itself while everything's still working. I also charge all the DS's and other handheld gaming devices too, and download any family friendly digitized movies onto tablets etc beforehand...esp if you have kids. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Marchpane one other great (if unbook related) tip. If you have any extra pitchers around fill them with water...you can drink that if the power goes out and takes your water pumping system with it. And here in the NE USA we fill our bathtubs with water. If all the power & water goes you can use the water stored in your tub to continue flushing your toilet through any power outage. You just use a cup/pitcher etc to move the water from the tub... 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa ... to the tank and gravity alone will continue allowing you to flush even without power. Sounds weird I know, but it works, and I love a great blizzard here, great for reading and all the better if the toilet still works. LOL 👍 7y
Marchpane @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Thank you! Lol, filling the bath is standard cyclone prep here too (I've never yet had to do it), along with submerging your pool furniture and filling the wheelie bin with water so they don't blow away! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Marchpane Yes! Usually here it's snow/blizzards, so it's bring in any outside furniture, or strap it down, etc so it doesn't blow away too! In my part of the country it's a lot of well water, so when the power goes, so does the well pump. So I've used the tub water trick before and it works perfectly. 7y
