I really wanted to enjoy Devastation Road, especially since it is a combination of two topics that fascinate me: WWII and amnesia. Unfortunately I found it extremely hard to connect to the writing style, characters AND plot… And honestly I think I would probably have opted for a DNF if this weren‘t an ARC. I seem to be in the minority though since most reviews have been really positive.

I'm currently about 30% into Devastation Road and unfortunately still not feeling it. The idea behind this story is fascinating; an English soldier in 1945 who has amnesia and doesn't remember the last four years nor can retain new memories. Unfortunately I'm finding it extremely hard to connect to the writing style, characters AND plot... And honestly I think I would have opted for a DNF if this weren't an ARC. 😕

When you try taking a bookish photo for #caturday and your cats end up playing instead of posing. 😂😂 Currently reading Devastation Road by Jason Hewitt and unfortunately I'm not really impressed so far... I can't warm up to the writing style and it all seems far too confusing for now.
