From the New York Times bestselling author of The Program comes a haunting, romantic, and suspenseful story about one girls search for healing in a grand and mysterious hotel full of secrets. Stay tonight. Stay forever. When Audrey Casella arrives for an unplanned stay at the grand Hotel Ruby, shes grateful for the detour. Just months after their mothers death, Audrey and her brother, Daniel, are on their way to live with their grandmother, dumped on the doorstep of a DNA-matched stranger because their father is drowning in his grief. Audrey and her family only plan to stay the night, but life in the Ruby can be intoxicating, extending their stay as it provides endless distractionsincluding handsome guest Elias Lange, who sends Audreys pulse racing. However, the hotel proves to be as strange as it is beautiful. Nightly fancy affairs in the ballroom are invitation only, and Audrey seems to be the one guest who doesnt have an invite. Instead, she joins the hotel staff on the rooftop, catching whispers about the hotels dark past. The more Audrey learns about the new people shes met, the more her curiosity grows. Shes torn in different directionsthe pull of her past with its overwhelming loss, the promise of a future that holds little joy, and an in-between in a place that is so much more than it seems And the 13th chapter will only add to the mystery behind the 13th floor of Hotel Ruby...and ultimately, what it means for Audrey. Welcome to the Ruby.

I liked the premise, and the second half was better than the first...but overall I think this gothic romance just misses the mark.

Pickpick

This was a pretty good YA horror story.

Hotel for the Lost was the blind date with a book I bought during my visit to LI in December. It was really fast and an entertaining enough story. It wasn't anything to write home about but passed the time nicely.

Visited a cute new shop today. I picked the one on the bottom right and it's the tagged book! I kind of wish I had picked up the middle one too.

Easy read. Not really scary as the writing style is plain. I began to read it and it seemed familiar, then I realized I had attempted to read it under the previous title and cover of Hotel Ruby. I had abandoned in chapter 2 because of the writing. I finished it this time around because I had nothing better to read. 2.5 out of 5 stars.

monkeygirlsmama Bummer. Sounds like it would be a creepy good read. 7y
mylifeinbooks23 The tag line or whatever they're called completely gave the story away. 7y
