Freedom Train: The Story of Harriet Tubman
Freedom Train: The Story of Harriet Tubman | Dorothy Sterling
2 posts | 1 read | 3 to read
Born into slavery, young Harriet Tubman knew only hard work and hunger. Escape seemed impossible--certainly dangerous. Yet Harriet did escape North, by the secret route called the Underground Railroad. Harriet didn't forget her people. Again and again she risked her life to lead them on the same secret, dangerous journey.

Harriet Tubman inspires me beyond words. Such fearlessness and determination. You can learn a lot rereading this little 1951 chapter book about The Underground Railroad and how one woman refused to give up, give in or leave anyone behind. And I hear there‘s a new film “Harriet” coming this Fall. 🙌🏻
