A beautiful and motivating story about the friendship of two remarkable women: Hertha Ayrton, a British engineer and inventor who (among other things) designed the Ayrton fan used in World War I to dispel poisonous gases from the trenches; and Marie Curie, winner of two Nobel Prizes, inventor of portable X-ray equipment and driver of these mobile radiography units called petites Curies near the front lines in World War I.

This #play was my last #FiveStarReads - so theatrical with a brilliant woman at the heart, battling between her intellectual convictions and her love for a flawed artistic genius (Voltaire). 3F/2M cast, historical costumes ❤️

#7777giveaway Congratulations @Booksandcooks !!

Megabooks Sounds interesting!! Thanks! 6y

Could I love this #play more? No. I am now antsy to see it staged and raring to work on a production of it some day. Such witty dialogue, a tempestuous relationship with Voltaire, and a brilliant woman who defied the limitations of the day to be a force of intellect in physics.
