Water Is Water
Water Is Water: A Book About the Water Cycle | Miranda Paul
4 posts | 7 read | 2 to read
Drip. Sip. Pour me a cup. Water is water unless...it heats up. Whirl. Swirl. Watch it curl by. Steam is steam unless...it cools high. This spare, poetic picture book follows a group of kids as they move through all the different phases of the water cycle. From rain to fog to snow to mist, talented author Miranda Paul and the always remarkable Jason Chin (Redwoods, Coral Reefs, Island, Gravity) combine to create a beautiful and informative journey in this innovative nonfiction picture book that will leave you thirsty for more.

#MarchMadness Day 12: everything in this book is gorgeous: from the plip-plop of Paul‘s lyrical text to the breathtaking art of Chin. Now that we live in the desert, water is a precious commodity. The childhood rhyme “#Rain rain go away” does not make sense here, as #rain is invited to stay, any day of the week. Told in accessible prose poetry, the art highlights the transformative nature of water. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-luw

I love love love this picture book. Simple stanzas on each page lead children through the many forms of water and the water cycle in a question and answer format that is great for preschool and toddler storytime.

I loved it, but my son asked me to stop using my yelling voice. I wasn't yelling, it was my dramatic voice. Correct tag not available yet. So tagged another fabulous book by the same author.

Soubhiville This is a chunkster and the start of a trilogy, so I don‘t know if it‘d work for your bookclub. It‘s so good though: 6y
