This came highly recommended to me by some of the people at the reading retreat, so I was happy to find it at Foyle‘s! We arrived in London today and strolled around Charing Cross Rd and Cecil Court. Foyle‘s was really impressive. If we had unlimited luggage space we would have brought more of the books home with us. 😬

LiteraryinLawrence @LeeRHarry @TrishB Thanks for the recommendation! 4y
LeeRHarry @LiteraryinLititz Glad you enjoyed it 😊 I know, luggage space is always an issue, and I just can‘t help myself! Like all of us here I imagine! 😆 4y

A missing girl and a body in the canal make up the first case for Bruce‘s detective, Gary Goodhew (I‘ve nicknamed him ‘Duncan‘ after the British swimmer). Unfortunately his name was the only (barely) interesting thing about this book.

By the time we actually got to the interesting part of the story, I couldn‘t have cared less. Apparently the next book is really good. We‘ll see. 2 ⭐️

julesG I'm wondering whether I've read this already and been equally underwhelmed, or whether it's still hiding on #MountTBR. 6y
OutsmartYourShelf @julesG Yes, it‘s not a particularly memorable book (not to me anyway). 6y
