101 Reasons to Love the Packers
101 Reasons to Love the Packers | David Green
2 posts | 1 read
The Green Bay Packers are the last of the small-town teams that were once common in the NFL. The Pack and their fans, the devoted Cheeseheads, have won 13 league championships (more than any other team in the NFL), including 9 NFL championships prior to the Super Bowl era and 4 Super Bowl victories. Their stellar roster--Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke, Paul Hornung, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, and of course, legendary coach Vince Lombardi--are all here, making history on the "frozen tundra" of Lambeau Field.

A lot of statistics that mostly go over my head, but cool to have a concise collection of accomplishments of the Packers. Some fun facts: Cheesehead was originally a derogatory term for Wisconsinites via Illinois. We embraced it. Lombardi retired from coaching but stayed on as general manager. Lambeau Field was dubbed the frozen tundra after the ice bowl of 1967. Leroy Butler was the originator of the Lambeau Leap.

If one can‘t be reading, one may as well be at Lambeau! 💚💛🐄🧀 (Still haven‘t read a page during our CA to WI road trip, but at least I convinced the fam to start the Sorcerer‘s Stone audiobook today. :)
