Sad to hear that another great mystery writer has died. #MaryHigginsClark
gradcat @EadieB I agree! Even though I stopped reading her books (after about ten of them, perhaps—she was really a prolific writer), I think she wrote well written books, which is not always the case these days. She was just a writing fiend! ♥️ 4y
EadieB @gradcat She was the Nora Roberts of Mystery books. 4y
Crazeedi @EadieB @gradcat I saw this a couple days ago, I read her books long long time ago, then stopped reading when they got rather predictable. But she definitely had an impact on me in my younger years 💔 4y

EadieB @Crazeedi Her books are easy mystery. I prefer more complex mysteries 4y
Crazeedi @EadieB yes, but they were a good in between nancy drew and adult type murder mysteries! 4y
EadieB @Crazeedi I think when she was popular there really wasn't the type of mysteries we read today. I think in those days they were mostly simple mystery. 4y
gradcat @EadieB @Crazeedi I agree 💯 % with both of you...only balance, I think she lands in the cozy category, or perhaps romance mystery. But she was prolific, and a stalwart of female mystery writers, and for that, I salute her. Nowadays, all types of media seem to me to be a lot more complex, as Eadie notes. Good to visit with you guys...hope you are both well. ♥️♥️ 4y
Crazeedi @gradcat @EadieB definitely she was a trailblazer in many ways. But there were other mysteries early on, think Rex Stout, those are excellent 4y
gradcat @Crazeedi Oh, I love the Rex Stout books...haven‘t read one in a while, though... 4y
Crazeedi @gradcat I read them as a series years ago, my daughter turned me on to them! 4y
EadieB @Crazeedi @gradcat In my library, I have 22 Rex Stout books but only read a couple! 4y
Crazeedi @EadieB @gradcat they are delicious! My daughter let me borrow her whole series. I totally enjoyed them. Actually a series I might reread sometime 4y
EadieB @Crazeedi I need to read more too! 4y
gradcat @EadieB @Crazeedi I‘m sure I read at least 5 or 6, possibly (or probably) more, but I love them. I even loved the old TV show with Timothy Hutton & Maury Chaykin—the time period is one of my faves! ♥️ 4y
