The Rise and Fall of Civilizations
The Rise and Fall of Civilizations: The Law of History | Nicholas Hagger
1 post
The Rise and Fall of Civilizations, a sequel to The Light of Civilization, is a study of the history of civilizations. Nicholas Hagger describes religion as the basis for civilization. Saints, mystics, gurus, prophets, religious founders, it is these that drive history rather than kings and politicians. He outlines the patterns of the civilizations themselves, providing a unique interpretation of the dynamics of their origin, rise and collapse. Essential reading for students of history, it will interest all seeking to understand historical patterns and the direction in which our civilization is heading today.

Ddzmini Wow it‘s the whole instant gratification thing that everyone needs now sad but true everyone wants that quick fast now now now... can you imagine anyone have to stand still for a picture like they did in when cameras where new or walk miles to get from one state to another not happening... I walk to the store post office and back home and everyone has a heart attack 🙄 it‘s only 12 mile round trip I mean really 😳 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker Yikes! One of the many reasons I love reading is that it makes me slow down in this fast paced world and disappear into another world. 6y
