so-soYou know when you‘re packing for a trip and you‘re like, “There. I have everything I need.” But then your Midwestern Panic hits and you start shoving random crap in your bag b/c sure, you‘re only going for 3 days, but if you need those rhinestoned-to-hell stilettos and you don‘t have them, you‘re gonna look so silly. That‘s this book. It‘s a good plot, the characters are interesting. There‘s just SO👏🏻MUCH👏🏻SHOVED👏🏻IN👏🏻 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
AshleyHoss820 This is the 14th book in the series & that may be the issue. There‘s always that need to “up the ante” as a procedural ages. Often, I was hooked, but then the author would divert to yet another plot (coal union corruption in WV, an angsty teen romance, precocious twin boys, a Vietnamese gangster) and we‘d start the dance all over again. The best part of the book, for me: the dogs, Gog and Magog. I‘ll try some others in the series before giving up. 2y
