A surreal horror story, following a young nurse who is caught in the middle of a strange supernatural conspiracy on her first day working for Saint Cascia Psychiatric Hospital. IS THERE SUCH A THING AS SANITY? Ever since she was little, all Ashli wanted was to help people. Its why she went to nursing school, and its why she signed up for the vacant position at Saint Cascia, despite the psychiatric hospitals less-than-sterling reputation. But when strange occurrences begin in the midst of her very first day on the jobrazor blades scattered through the halls, a patient named Xerxes always hidden behind a makeshift mask, and a brutal riot initiated by the inmatesAshli is forced to escape through the labyrinthine bowels of the asylum to not only help her fellow nursesbut to save herself. Eisner Award-nominated writer Cullen Bunn (Harrow County, The Empty Man) is joined by brilliant newcomer artist Jack T. Cole for The Unsound, a surreal psychological horror series that will have you questioning what it is to truly be crazy

Bailedbailed

This comic just didn‘t grab me 50ish pages in. It might be because I couldn‘t move past the poor representation of mental health, and of mental health care today looking similar to mental health care of the past. Mostly, it was the using mental health as a “this is inherently scary, so I don‘t actually have to establish anything in the beginning because everyone will take for granted that mental health = bad and scary” type of gimmick. #comic

Pickpick

This is one of the most disturbing graphic novels I have ever read. I got a horrorstor vibe from it, it involves one building hiding another. It shares some messed up character mutilations along the way. I‘ll not go into the plot because that will ruin the story, but the imagery in this book and the feeling of unease throughout is unnerving and great all at the same time! Seems to be self contained to so if you wanna be freaked out give it a go 👍
