GingerAntics I can imagine. May I share your post with my seniors this afternoon? To think, a few decades difference and they‘d be off to war at the end of the school year. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics absolutely !!! I‘ve shared it alllll day. My dad was out today too at elementary schools 4y
GingerAntics Oh that‘s cool! I think the more these stories are told, the more (hopefully!) the next generations will work to resolve things without wars, hot or cold. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics My grandpa Bernard was in WWII he was a prison guard of arrested Nazis and was overseas for three years. He left a wife and a small baby and a growing business to serve our country he was also drafted, as was his only sibling. So his mother my great grandma had two sons overseas. The place she fled to keep her sons safe. 4y
GingerAntics Wow. My students were really shocked by your post. They thought you‘re really cute, too. lol 4y
GingerAntics My grandfather was lucky enough in WWII to be a plane mechanic for what would become the Air Force. He was over seas, but never in combat. 4y
tracey38 Very sobering. My grandfather served in both WWII and Vietnam. He retired as a Col. in the Army and lived in multiple countries. It amazes me all he, as well as other veterans, have gone through. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I was a cutie pie 🤣❤️ 4y
