Every holiday seasonI love walking around my neighborhood to look at all the lights and decorations. We have some up, but our neighbors on the corner really do it up, especially with the 15-foot (at least) reindeers. A tradition that‘s been remiss for several years. Took my cue from my dearly departed friend. RIP my😇Jo (btw gf, it‘s a ☕️fam consensus that this totally would have been Ty-Ty😏)

One Christmas tradition is putting up a train around the tree. This tradition was passed down from grandfather who always put a train around the Christmas tree. Sometimes they were complex twisting tracks and sometimes they were simple one track trains. He even had books about Christmas trains. This is one way I keep his memory alive each year. 🎄🚂 #merryreaders #wintergames @Clwojick

One of my favorite Christmas traditions: Each year our kids pick out an ornament for the tree. We write their name on the box and try to include a note about why they picked that one. We've kept the boxes through the years (our oldest just turned 23, youngest is 5). It's like opening a box of memories every time decorate the tree, and when they are moved out with trees of their own, we'll give them their ornaments.

Our last ornament of the year is a Packer one. Houston has lead us to great Packer Bar that we have been frequenting and is a great new Houston memory for us :)

We started a new tradition tonight. I got this adorable Christmas Eve box for Jace that I found on Etsy. It contained a Christmas book, Christmas movie, Christmas stuffie and Christmas pajamas. He quite enjoyed taking everything in and out of the box several times. I should have just gotten him empty boxes for Christmas! 😆

#WinterGames Team #ReadNosedReindeer #Sharedholidaytradition Every Christmas Eve my sisters and I would go to Blockbuster and rent a bunch of movies, the Home Alone films included. I still keep up this tradition (ok, sans Blockbuster lol) and watch this every year.

My Christmas tradition is that I always watch A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day every year and also me and my parents go to Christmas mass on both days of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. #WinterGames, #elfies, @Clwojick @StayCurious @Bookwormjillk

Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year. We go to the candlelight service at my parents‘ church, then come back to their house and pig out on all of my favorite foods — dips, appetizers, fancy cheeses, shrimp cocktail (and lobster tails this year!) while watching Trading Places. Also, Jace is going to open his Christmas Eve box tonight. ☺️

I cannot remember how long this spark plug has been on our tree. It‘s been probably over 20 years now. My dad put a hook on it one year and put it on the tree as a joke and every year since it has to be put on because our family Christmas tree isn‘t complete without it.

As mentioned in previous posts (and I like to keep explaining myself) my hubby and I collect ornaments from places we visit. We went to a Holocaust museum (okay I know they don‘t celebrate Christmas but we bought a charm we are making into an ornament)

Putting up the tree was always a family #HolidayTradition Hubby & I just moved back to my home town this summer after being away for 10 years so this was great. We are not putting up a tree of our own (for multiple reasons) but we helped mom do hers. I hope I can use this as my #XmasTreeContest entry (if not, it‘s still pretty tri look at 😉🥰). @jfalkens Apparently what your husband meant as a joke last year has now become a Christmas tradition in my house. My husband gifted four books this year and wrapped all of the hardbacks this way, and I did his as well. 😂🤓
