This was the last Y book I read. Apparently, I rated it four stars in 2019. Honestly, I don‘t remember reading it, but I must‘ve thought it was good to give it four stars. #poetry

Yanyi‘s poetry gives voice to his younger self figuring out who he is, and his now self experiencing life as a transgender man.

Well done and worth the read!

‪This book is about a lot of things, and to me it seems like one of the main things is the tension between community/togetherness and self/separation. Really enjoyed this and am looking forward to taking a second pass through it.‬

I read this book in one day. I saw myself in so many of the pages. I didn‘t know all of those things about who I am. I felt like this book helped me discover a piece of myself. #poetry

slategreyskies Also, just to add—- this book is tagged wrong. It‘s written by Yanyi, not Carl Phillips. CP just does the intro. 5y
