History Candy
History Candy | Katrina Streza

Candy is a way of life for Danny and Sam. When their class learns about the American Pioneers, the boys are forced to imagine a world without candy stores. History Candy features 7 short chapters with black and white illustrations and is a good bridge for beginning readers or as a read-aloud. Make sure you check out all the Candy School Chapter Books: 1. Math Candy 2. Grammar Candy 3. Map Candy 4. Science Candy 5. History Candy

A better look at the candies from the African American candy collection that @Chrissyreadit sent in my #BlitsyHistoryMonth swap.🍬😍 it includes crystallized cane sugar, maple sugar(my favorite!😍😍😍), Carver brittle, candied rose/violet petals, Hot Tamales, Charleston Chew, pecans, peppermint Gibraltar, molasses pulls, a piece of licorice root, dried fruit, and sorghum. Can‘t wait to try these later!

Chrissyreadit Yay! Did it come with information about how it is relevant? She wrote a book about candy and American History 5y
Chrissyreadit She being the curator of the store. 5y
MolliesaurusRex @Chrissyreadit omg that‘s so cool! There‘s a card describing how each candy is relevant & another card with different candies from different centuries, along with shop info. 5y
Chelleo That is cool! I want to known about the background on the candy! Can you share a pic of one of the cards? (edited) 5y
