We are headed to Shanghai in one week!! Please let me know if there are any Shanghai-related books you recommend or things to do once we‘re there! I am so excited. I am hoping for culture shock but also trying not to have many expectations.

ferskner Oooo I forgot that I promised that I'd ask my sister for recommendations. My recommendation of Madame Mao's Dowry and the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel still stand. :) 5y
ferskner Okay! My sister says the French Concession, and that the skyscraper that looks like a hand-vac (haha!) has a glass viewing floor that's awesome. She said all the touristy stuff is good, too, but also recommends a fast train day trip to Suzhou, where she used to live. :) I've been there, and the gardens are amazing. 5y
