Tomorrow or Forever: Stories
Tomorrow or Forever: Stories | Jack Kaulfus
3 posts | 1 read | 3 to read
Fiction. LGBTQIA Studies. In this collection of speculative fiction, ordinary everyday characters are thrust into uncanny circumstances and journeys of chilling discovery and self-transformation. A newly deceased woman finding herself in an unsettling afterlife must choose a limited number of objects that will have significant implications for her journey in the next life. A young convict is tricked into a radical genetic transformation in an effort to escape her past transgressions. Interweaving the magical and mundane, Kaulfus deftly shifts how we experience boundaries of gender, sex, space, and time and offers a tapestry of hope to those who live in the flux and margins of gender and sexuality, life and death, the pragmatic and ideal.

It doesn‘t look like I‘ll be finishing anything else today, so here‘s my March wrap up! My favorites were Two Steps Forward, The Snow Gypsy, The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, And Tomorrow Or Forever.

I‘m in the middle of The Nightingale and The Island is Sea Women, but they‘ll both roll into April.

Another great reading month!

WanderingBookaneer What is the book with the whale? 5y
Soubhiville @WanderingBookaneer Moby Dick. It‘s not an actual book cover, but I read it through Serial, which has an ugly cover, so I grabbed this image on Pinterest. 😊🐋 5y

I can‘t believe I caught this photo! Lol! Igor finds modeling yawn inducing.

I really liked this quirky collection of stories! My favorite is The End of Objects, in which we see an interesting version of reincarnation.

Each story has non-binary characters, some are sci-fi, some more contemporary fiction. I liked them all! I hope there will be more from this TX trans author!

I‘m starting this morning with this book of really cool short stories by an Austin local trans author I saw speak at TBF in 2017. The first two stories were really good and thought provoking.
#24B4Monday I‘m starting the clock at about 5 hours this morning 😀📚

Andrew65 Good luck with day 2, a good total so far. 👍 5y
