Last post for #c2e2 2020 and it has to be about comics, right? Had a great time visiting Artist Alley. Love wandering and seeing all the artists. Got to see Skottie Young (and get our usual picture with him), Jenny Frison, Dustin Nguyen, Donny Cates and Rainbow Rowell. Picked up a few prints—Wonder Woman, The Mandalorian (not pictured). Also got a piece of original art—The Child—from Dustin Nguyen (couldn‘t resist!) So. Much. Fun.
Here‘s my stack of #24in48 reading. I loved using the readathon to catch up on comics. I also got about 5 hours of progress in on my audiobook. 🎉📚🎧
pickVery excited to return to world first introduced in Descender, a story about the battle between man & machine. Ten years later, technology has been banished & magic is reasserting itself. Mila (the daughter of a main character in Descender) chaffs under the confining, but safe, life her father has carved out for them & longs to go out in the world in spite of the dangers. Nguyen‘s watercolor art is gorgeous, as always. Great start to a new story.
There are #ncbd Wednesdays & then there are #NCBD WEDNESDAYS!!! So many big releases today including the tagged comic which picks up 10 years or so after Descender. Then, Invisible Kingdom #2, Wonder Woman #69, Ironheart #5, Fearscape #5 & Runaways #20. Honestly, it‘s an embarrassment of comics riches. So much good reading here—including Middlewest #6 which is for @ElishaLovesBooks & her classroom. This is going to be a great afternoon of reading!
