I‘ve been considering what to say about this book. To sum it up ... bitterly disappointing.

Well-written, but with uncozy-like heartbreaking losses, to which was added a series of frightening incidents, culminating in an event that completely ruined the book for me. I am still angry.

I read for enjoyment, and this experience was, unfortunately, not enjoyable for me.

Book 2 for the #bookfitnesschallenge

wanderinglynn Oh my! That‘s no good at all. I would expect a cozy mystery to be on the light-hearted side (despite the murder). 5y
mabell @wanderinglynn Ironic (being that there is a murder 😆), but yes, they should be fun! 5y

I am so excited to read this!

All the non-thriller, cozy type mysteries I have read end with Christie & Heyer in the 70s, and don‘t start again until around 1990. This is a culinary cozy from 1983! There are even recipes, printed on the insides of the covers!

Have I mentioned I‘m excited?! 😄

Pamwurtzler That looks so fun! 5y
erzascarletbookgasm Cosy mysteries are always fun. This one with recipes? More fun! 5y
mabell @Pamwurtzler @erzascarletbookgasm I think it looks fun too! Obviously 😆 But I‘m really interested to see how the genre has evolved as compared to this “vintage” version. 5y
LeahBergen I think I read this one in the ‘90s! 😆 5y
mabell @LeahBergen Ha really?! I hope it was good! I also picked up another of her books, and it cost me AT LEAST a quarter 😂 5y
