A spontaneous audio download because my local library has suddenly added the whole series to the catalogue. This was a really fun blast from the past. Ticked all my nostalgia boxes.

On Episode 210 of my book podcast, author Ashley Poston and I prove that it‘s never too late to catch up on the pop culture that the cool kids were consuming approximately 20 years ago. 🙈 In our conversation about the first book in the ANIMORPHS series, we touch on mall hangs, the blurry lines between middle grade and YA, things that creep us out, dog behavior, metaphors for puberty, horse girls, and more. ✨ Listen at the link in my bio!
5/5
A great series for younger readers, especially ones who aren‘t too keen on reading. Each book has a morphing window cover that peeks at the next full page color image, and a flipbook style morph illustration at the edge of each page.
The Invasion is basically the Animorphs origin story. It‘s surprisingly full of action and world-building for its size. There are touching moments and chuckle-worthy humor. Written for kids, but still a fun read.
Seven books that will remain in our minds, because they touched us so much, changed us.

I loved the Animorphs series growing up! I made my parents bring me every weekend to the bookstore to check for the newest one!
Had a visitor outside my office window today. :)
Gosh, I am days behind on #startreksummermay ! Let's see if I can speed round it. First up: Conspiracy! Do I wish there had been more gross slug aliens? I mean, sure - I read every single Animorph book, so I'll always want more slug conspiracies. (Though I must admit, I think this book series for children handled this plot better than TNG would have.)
The cover is different than the ones I read when I was a kid, but I still can‘t wait to revisit this! An absolute favorite. 😻
One way to get yourself out of a slump .....rereading the classics ! Oh #nostalgia lol
#OctPhotoChallenge Day 17. One of my favorite 90s book series had a (very late) 90s television show which translated to a (very weird) line of transforming toys.
Animorphs had a lot of characters but the one I remember being drawn to the most was Cassie.
