Thanks to Litsy, I was made aware of this short radio play inspired by the friendship between Virginia Woolf and Katherine Mansfield & adapted from the tagged book:

https://yorickradio.buzzsprout.com/1084415/10203906-radio-revelry-a-public-of-tw...

I listened to it on its release date but have been MIA from Litsy for a week or so. I have some catching up to do but my first priority was to shout out @LindaLappin ‘s work! ✍️

LindaLappin thank you so much for the listen, I appreciate the support, as will the young actors & producer who worked hard to put this together. Amazing how much work goes into 20 mins. of radio performance. Hoping to assemble another short episode from the book for the 100th anniversary of KM's death next year & also do an dramatized audiobook of my 1st novel The Etruscan with the same group. thanks again

“The train pulled on through the blizzard. Katherine pressed the small of her back against the seat and took small, tremulous breaths to keep herself from coughing...“ #SavvySettings Day 16, #Train @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Aug. 1920, #VirginiaWoolf paid weekly visits to #KatherineMansfield in Hampstead before KM's return to France to seek a cure for her TB. In Katherine's studio, they talked shop. After that summer, they would not meet again. Mansfield died in France, near Paris at the Prieurè of Fontainebleau in January 1923. Delighted to announce the upcoming radio play A Public of Two, adapted from my novel Katherine's Wish about the life of #KatherineMansfield. This chapter deals with the #friendship of Mansfield and #VirginiaWoolf
The play will be performed by a troupe of brilliant young actors in UK, under the direction of Yorick Radio Productions. It will be available on all podcast platforms, & I will share the links when ready! Please stop by for a listen!

Michael_Gee I look forward to this! Added to my calendar. Their friendship had a fascinating dynamic. I loved reading about it in Woolf‘s diaries. Her entry a week after KM‘s death sticks with me, it is such an honest recording of grief and the confusion of emotions. 2y
LindaLappin @Michael_Gee yes, it was a very conflicted relationship- of attraction, identification, and rivalry...they were very wary of each other, while admiring each other's work deeply. KM, whose economic situation was complex due to her father's stinginess thought VW lived in the lap of luxury. She had no idea of VW's physical & mental suffering. VW, on her part, saw KM as underbred, with the wrong perfume and too much make up...and yet could she write! 2y
LindaLappin @Michael_Gee thank you for your interest - the play is 15 mins long, and I haven't been present at the later rehearsals, so it will be a surprise for me too. It will be available indefinitely on Yorick's podcasts after release. thank you so much for your interest. As soon as the link is ready I will post it here. thanks again 2y
LindaLappin @Michael_Gee the play is up now. on apple, Spotify, buzz sprout & other major platforms https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/yorick-radio-productions/id1515932612?uo=4 2y
