Not my favorite, but a very cute story. Lots of humor and well written visuals of what it would be like for a modern day teenaged soccer player to spend an entire summer at an 1890s Frontier Camp. Includes allusions to Little House on the Prairie. This one took me longer to get through than it normally would because I couldn‘t stay super hooked compared to my other reads.

Only a couple chapters in, but very cute so far! Genevieve(Gen) is ready for a fun and restful summer, but not when she hears of her mother‘s plan for their family‘s vacation, Frontier Camp!!!! Where families can experience what it was like to live as an 1800s pioneer.

Instead of spending the summer at soccer camp or at the pool with her friends, 13-yr-old Genevieve is stuck at frontier family camp in a dank one room cabin living as if it was 1890. No technology, no indoor plumbing, lots of chores, no real guidance. Angry chickens. At least there is a cute boy suffering on a homestead nearby - but Gen is up against the camp hosts' daughter Nora who is also interested...
