Just finishing Being Elmo: A Puppeteer‘s Journey for #nfNov. Amazing story on his journey to Sesame Street.

And #TIL that Elmo was originally performed by veteran puppeteer Richard Hunt, who used caveman-like talk for Elmo. Richard, who had many other characters, got fed up with Elmo & gave it to Kevin Clash to do something with. Kevin considered advice given to him by Frank Oz on bringing a character to life, and the rest is history.

Kimberlone You should look up Kevin Lynch...it might change your opinion after having watched the documentary 4y
wanderinglynn @Kimberlone Can you give me more to go on? When I googled Kevin Lynch, I got an urban planner and I don‘t think that‘s who you mean. 4y
Kimberlone @wanderinglynn sorry I typed the wrong last name oops! I meant Kevin Clash who the documentary is about (edited) 4y

wanderinglynn @Kimberlone well, that is disappointing. But it‘s still a great story that might encourage other young minority artists and puppeteers. 4y
Kimberlone @wanderinglynn yeah I was very moved by the documentary when I first saw it. I think the allegations came out fairly soon after the documentary was released thoigh 4y
