I just figured out that my library has RB Digital in addition to regular ebook downloads - and they subscribe to the NY Review of Books, The New Yorker, and lots of others!

I am ridiculously overexcited. Thank you, library!

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I mean, I‘ll probably survive, but this won‘t be pleasant.

sprainedbrain I know, right?! We will persevere. 💪🏻 5y
Ruthiella You will have to check lots of books out to tide you over! 5y
jmtrivera I am also CONCERNED. I may have to read books from my own shelves and TBR. 😂 5y

Aimeesue @sprainedbrain It's gonna take a lot of strength to endure these awful conditions! 5y
Aimeesue @Ruthiella That is a big part of my plan! (edited) 5y
Aimeesue @jmtrivera That sounds pretty desperate. Do not despair! Turns out that we in Fairfax County can get a DC library card! We can borrow from their digital collection too. 😁 5y
jmtrivera I do have a DC library card! In fact, just about all the libraries in this area allow you to get cards if you live in one of the neighboring counties. You have to be prepared in case of desperate times! 5y

Today‘s library trip was a success! @jmtrivera @Nitpickyabouttrains and I made it to 3 libraries in the surrounding counties and got library cards. This brings me to 7 total library cards! 🎉 The newest branch we visited was very cool and even had a recording and mixing studio! (We also may have stopped for some wine 🍷) #librarylove

Tamra Envious - lucky gals! 5y
Nitpickyabouttrains So many library cards! 5y
Chrissyreadit What!? Where? How does one use it? 5y

Merethebookgal @Chrissyreadit A bunch of the surrounding counties in the Washington, DC area have an agreement with each other that residents of their counties can get library cards from the others, so it works like a normal library card with the same benefits. I use them mainly to check out ebooks and audiobooks and it‘s amazing! I think other counties do the same thing around the country, so check and see if it‘s available to you! 5y
Merethebookgal @Nitpickyabouttrains We‘ve gotta collect them all! 5y
Merethebookgal @Tamra We‘re lucky to have this benefit where we live! 5y
Chrissyreadit I wonder if they would let a WV resident use the recording studio. My daughter is interested in voicing audio books. We live an hour from DC. And many people in my area work in Louden county. 5y
Chrissyreadit By the way- what a great way to spend the day!!! 5y
Merethebookgal @Chrissyreadit It was really fun! And it can‘t hurt to ask! 5y
