A couple days ago I set up our sun room. Today we put together the chaise lounge my husband got me for my birthday and hung some lights on our upstairs porch. This is our kid free space to escape for a bit - now it just needs to warm up so I can read out here!

Porch repairs/repainting project is finally complete! It was a bit of work to say the least...as all house projects seem to be.

On the downside, I can‘t actually enjoy reading out there in the nice weather because we can‘t put the furniture back out for at least 72 hours...my current reading spot is to be perched on the corner of the couch *next to* the opened doors and just feet from the porch proper 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

Sunroom reading before it gets unbearably hot out here. The strange apparatus on the pole in the background is a bat box my husband built me. No residents yet...

Where are you reading today?

Tamra I hope you get a tenant soon! The more mosquito meals eaten the better...... 5y
cathysaid @Tamra Exactly!!! Those blood sucking insects will fly across three states to get to my husband. 5y
Gaylagal2 I love your bat box!! Bats are so very important for the environment and they're in serious trouble here in Missouri (and other areas) with the white nose disease. I also read a lot on my porch🤓 5y
cathysaid Thanks! Do you have a bat box? The only challenge is placing them correctly. My parents live in the mountains and were able to put theirs on the side of their house, but we had to put ours on a pole to get enough sun. Here‘s hoping the bats spread the word! 5y
