"Lepionka is setting a high standard for crime fiction." Booklist (starred review) on What You Want to See The Stories You Tell is Shamus Award-winning and Anthony and Macavity award-nominated author Kristen Lepionkas heart-pounding third novel that will keep readers on the edge of their seats with her signature twists and mile-high stakes. A late-night phone call is never good news, especially when youre Roxane Weary. This one is from her brother Andrew whose evening was interrupted by a visit from Addison, a hip young DJ he knows from the hotel bar where he works. She was drunk, bloody, and hysterical, but she wouldnt say what was wrong. After using his phone, she left as quickly as she appeared, and Andrew is worried. Thats when he calls Roxane. But another late-night call occurs as well: Addisons father calls the police after getting a panicked voicemail from his daughter. The only thing he could understand is the address she gave in the messageAndrews. Before long, the police are asking Andrew all about why theres blood in his apartment and what he did to Addison. Meanwhile, another cop is found dead on the opposite side of town, leading to a swirl of questions surrounding a dance club whose staffwhich includes Addisonhas suddenly gone AWOL.

Book 3 in Roxane Weary mystery series. Good mystery that kept me guessing. This series is set in Columbus, Ohio, so that's another point of interest for me because I live near there.

There's a missing DJ and a closed club, and it's all quite mysterious...

charl08 Read this all in one go! I do like Roxane Weary - such a "real" character. 5y

I started this series because it's a mystery/thriller series featuring a bisexual protagonist who is a PI. But while I came for the gay I stayed for the story! 💕📚🏳️‍🌈This is the third book so far, and they are all super smart books filled with mystery, action, fantastic characters and lots of personal growth. Plus the writing is awesome. I read this one in one sitting because I could not put it down! 👍💕

ravenlee What‘s the first book in the series? 5y
Branwen @ravenlee The first book is- The Last Place You Look, and the second is- What You Want to See. The series itself is called the Roxanne Weary series. I hope that helps! 😀💕 5y
ravenlee Thanks, I‘ll have to see if my library has it! 5y
Branwen @ravenlee Hooray! I really hope they do! 5y

Another fantastic installment in the Roxane Weary PI series! I think I'm getting smarter at mystery plots cause I was able to follow the different threads of Roxane's detective work, from investigating a shady bar's finances to looking at online dating and catfishing and searching for missing people with mysterious connections. I LOVE the characters and the gritty Columbus, Ohio setting. Some interesting developments in Roxane's love life too 😉.

Roxane is looking through a dating app as part of her PI work:
"Out of curiosity, I clicked on the 'info' icon under his picture to read the bio: *Just looking for a cool chick to send nude pics. Im married so be cool with that.* The state of straight people was troubling." #QueerBooks #BisexualBooks

I love Roxane Weary! She's such a fascinating character. She's great at talking to people and getting them to tell her their stories, which is probably like the top skill for a PI. #QueerBooks #BisexualBooks #Mystery

What an exciting piece of #bookmail!! This is the third book in the Roxane Weary PI mystery series, which I am in love with. Great #bisexual representation, twisty plots, beautiful writing, and fascinating characterization. What more could you want? This comes out July 9th, so you still have time to catch up before it's available. #QueerBooks #BisexualBooks

Branwen I love the first two books in this series! 😀 Really looking forward to reading this one! 📚💕 5y
