A.S. Byatt wrote: "What has stuck in my memory since my first reading of this book is the atmosphere. Allingham knows about dance routines, revolving stages, body trainers, lighting, gramophones and the nature of genius in performers."
I thought it the perfect addition to #MagicDance in #SeptemBowie. I've been loving exploring classic mysteries and Byatt's praise of Allingham as a writer has piqued my interest further in this one!
A great example of Albert Campion's fluctuating morals - which is one of the reasons why he makes such a great Golden Age 'tec. Perhaps not the place to start the series (try sweet danger first) but it wouldn't be a bad introduction either.
