One of my goals for #BFCr2 was to keep my doctor and dentist appointments this week. The doctor appointment turned into three, but at least the dental cleaning went well!

This is the second time my dentist brought up Invisalign. My insurance doesn‘t cover it, so I‘m considering it from a financial standpoint. Does anyone have any experience with it? Is it worth the time and money?

I have 6 months to ponder 🤔

Chrissyreadit How uncomfortable are you with your teeth? Will the impact be worth the financial investment? What is the value of the correction to you? Would you get braces if needed? 5y
merelybookish I did it a few years ago and I'm glad. It improved things but didn't transform my teeth into a perfect smile. If you do it, make sure you wear your retainer at night. Teeth do like to 'go back', I expect even more so when you're older. 5y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Could you save some for it in 6 months?? 5y

marleed I had 10 trays of Invisalign‘s over 20 weeks in 2016 and have slept with the retainers (a must) every night since. I highly recommend. My bottom teeth had always been crowded but front teeth were shifting in way that cast weird shadows noticeable in pics. I could fix my teeth easier than I could change my smile! (edited) 5y
dariazeoli @merelybookish @marleed Thanks for sharing! I had braces in HS and suffered the dreaded “retainer laziness” with my bottom teeth! 5y
dariazeoli @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘m considering using my Flexible Spending Account, but work makes us set an amount in November for the following year 5y
dariazeoli @Chrissyreadit I did braces once. I‘d rather not go that route again. Thanks for the other questions. Food for thought. 5y
