Welp, that was intense. So many layers that fit so well together. I really really hope there another installment or that the story continues with another major character in the series, like with with Bonnie. Hmmm...

Vancouver private detective Nora Watts had a Palestinian mother & an Indigenous father. I read the 1st in this series a while back, skipped the 2nd & have now finished the 3rd. Thrillers aren‘t my usual fare but I do appreciate a feisty female lead who isn‘t great at interpersonal relations. She‘s a recovering alcoholic & still learning about her own self worth. A suspenseful #audiobook read by the incomparable Bahni Turpin. #CanLit #shadowgiller
He wanted to go to Alberta & see a new purple coloured ribbon of light in the aurora borealis that scientists are calling Steve. Even though it‘s now known that Steve is actually a 25 km-wide concentration of hot gases, he still thinks it‘s worth a trip to Alberta, which is insanity. Nothing is worth going to Alberta.
I didn‘t realize this was the third book in a series until I was already a couple hours into it. Apparently, you don‘t need to read the first two books to read this one, but I just don‘t feel invested in the characters or story. I‘m not enjoying it as much as I could be, so I‘m going to set it aside.
