From a series of books published between 1928 and 1960 about an aboriginal detective in outback Australia. I read a few in my teenage years and enjoyed them. I suspect I would feel differently about them if I read them now.

Cinfhen Premise for a series sounds interesting 5y
Tonton Read this Series when younger, too. At the time it was introduction via detective story to a country and culture I hadn‘t thought about. So、 grateful for that、 but not sure about rereading. (edited) 5y
Ruthiella I read these as a teenager too. I liked the depiction of the outback. But I agree, if I read them now it would be through a different lens. 5y

CarolynM @Tonton @Ruthiella I'm very tempted to get one down from the shelf and try (I do know where these are😂). I seem to remember I liked Wings Above the Diamantina best and that was an early one. I'll think about it tomorrow. 5y
