This book was originally written in code- and is therefore a bit boring to read. Especially the first part which has nothing to do with the great fire was really boring for me. The part about the period of the fire was more interesting (luckily) but it‘s not really a book I‘d recommend if you want to read about the fire in 1666. 2/5⭐️

Pickpick

Diarist Samuel Pepys's firsthand eyewitness account of the Great Fire of London in 1666, which burned for 4 days and was started in a bakery. It is thought to have destroyed 70,000 homes of the 80,000 residents.

My minimalist cover for #augustofpages is this entry in the Little Black Classics series. Even the name of the series conveys an elegant minimalism.
