I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.

Finished this just at sunset on my last full day in the Azores. 5 million stars for the reading location, ~4 stars for the book. A lovely standalone sci-fi/fantasy set on a colonized planet that is mostly ocean with many small islands, and a native species of giant sea creature that can communicate telepathically with humans. An excellent pairing with my island vacation! (though no telepathy with the dolphins or whale that I saw)

wanderinglynn Gorgeous view! 4y
TrishB Looks lovely 😊 4y
llwheeler I haven't seen this book on the lists of sci-fi/fantasy with LGBTQ content that make the rounds periodically, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it. One char has a lot of internalized homophobia at first that made me quite nervous for the direction the story would go, but it didn't go there (imo). 4y
llwheeler @wanderinglynn @TrishB it was so beautiful there! 4y

llwheeler @Andrea4 thanks!! 4y
janeycanuck Safe travels! (Also, is it wrong that I sometimes secretly hope a return flight will be so hugely delayed, I‘ll have to drop a small fortune in the airport bookstore to keep me entertained?) 4y
llwheeler @janeycanuck thanks! Haha, that doesn't sound too bad 😛 4y
