A Pinch of Snuff
A Pinch of Snuff | Reginald Hill
3 posts | 3 read
Everyone knew about the kind of films they showed at the Calliope Club - once the Residents' Association and the local Women's Group had given them some free publicity. But when Peter Pascoe's dentist suggests that one film in particular is more than just good clean dirty fun, the inspector begins to make a few discreet inquiries. Before they bear fruit, though, the dentist has been accused of having sex with an underage patient, the cinema has been wrecked and its elderly owner murdered. Superintendent Dalziel expects no more from professional men who watch blue films. But Pascoe has a hunch that this time Dalziel is way off target...

Another good read in the Dalziel and Pascoe Series, although this one seemed more focused on Pascoe and had less of Dalziel. I prefer it when both of them are in it, Dalziel is such a dinosaur of a character and adds a lot to the series. Reginald Hill had some great phrasing and some great one liner sentences in this book. Recommend this series, and looking forward to continuing it.

Starting book 5 in the Dalziel and Pascoe Series. Doing this by audiobook, read by Colin Buchanan who played Pascoe in the tv series from the 1990s.

Found an early Pascoe and Dalziel; Peter still finding his way as a detective and uneasy with Dalziel. Memories of my dad chortling about Fat Andy...thanks, Dad, for introducing me to great writers on our weekly trips to the library. Miss you.
