I read another chapter of MADAME SARAH while I drank blue tea. It‘s still great, and I still think her life would make a fabulous drama. I poked IMDB the other night and learned there‘ve only been two films about her: a British one in the 70s and a French TV movie in 2006. Clearly the filmmakers of France have a big gap to fill. Gimme 8-10 episodes per season, please, across 3+ seasons. She‘s too dramatic for anything less.

I settled into my reading nook after supper to drink some hot chocolate and read a good chunk of this gripping biography. It‘s got me wondering why I‘ve never seen or heard of a drama (or a biopic) based on Sarah Bernhardt‘s life. Surely one exists in French, even if the English-speaking world has let us down? Point me to it, friends.
