Fringe - The Burning Man (Novel #2)
Fringe - The Burning Man (Novel #2) | Christa Faust
6 posts | 1 read
The critically acclaimed Fringe television series explores the dramatic and grotesque as impossible crimes are investigated by the government's shadowy Fringe Division, established when Special Agent Olivia Dunham enlisted institutionalized "fringe" scientist Walter Bishop and his globe-trotting son, Peter, to help in investigations that defy all human logic - and the laws of nature. Author Christa Faust (Choke Hold, Supernatural) is working hand-in-hand with the television writers to create new adventures uncovering the secrets of the series. The first novel revealed how Walter Bishop and William Bell discovered the drug Cortexiphan--and the alternate universe! Book two will explore how Olivia Dunham first was subjected to Cortexiphan experiments, with catastrophic results. Faust has been given unprecedented access to stories that have not been told on-screen, but weave directly into the series canon, much as Joss Whedon's Buffy graphic novels continue that series' official storyline. Mehso-so

Started off a little meh (probably why I've been trying to read it since mid-Nov). About 2/3 in it really picked up & felt more like an episode of Fringe. Let's just say, it got weird & had you going "WTF?!?!" Loved the book after that. Sadly the first part was a bit dull. Good writing, but nothing fringe-y going on, which was why I was reading it. I'd give it a 3/5. It ended on an interesting note. I'd read the last third again.

I was so overwhelmed on where to start to recover my living room from the Christmas explosion that I decided to just sit down and read. The hubs said it was probably a good idea because even he could tell I was getting majorly stressed out. I got to read for over an hour and about 75pages. Not a bad start to the new year, especially since i want to try to read everyday this year.

MarriedtoMrT The cleanup can be so overwhelming! I'm doing a little bit at a time which means it probably won't be done until March. 7y
QuoteQueen @MarriedtoMrT OMG, right?!? I'm like, "where the f am I going to put all this stuff?!?!?" Our plan is to get rid of some old stuff, organize our bookshelves, get a new bookshelf and canvas totes, then really hit the mess. But I couldn't do any of that today. I did manage to clean off the kitchen table, but after that I was at a loss and gave up. ? It's killing me though. Clearly I need to read more. ? 7y
QuoteQueen Oh! I've been doing laundry for days AND loaded the dishwasher twice so there's that. (Tricking my stress to calm down by listing what I have accomplished haha). 7y

I'm going to suspend this one for now. I want to read the 1st one before this one. Also, I'm really exited about the book I got yesterday! So I will read that before the Fringe novels. 😊

SaraFair Must hear about Fringe novels! Saw them at B&N and felt like I could get them used somewhere. Need to rewatch it first. I love the first season! 8y
QuoteQueen @SaraFair as soon as I saw them I had to buy them, or else I risk forgetting I wanted to read them. Each one follows a different character I believe. Going to read them (starting with the first since I accidentally grabbed #2) after I read Cleopatra's Shadows 😊 8y

Needed a purse sized book. Lol.

Set a lure and sat between 2 pokestops to read and catch some Pokemon.

Gotta catch 'em all! Haha

Also I miss the show Fringe. 😜
