It‘s been a little bit since I had a library haul large enough to post. This week I got more New Mutants, a harmonica book, a blame it on Litsy title, and a few random shelf picks, including the tagged book, another of Walter Scott‘s Wendy comics, and a big DC hardcover.

mandarchy I ❤️ it! "A blame it on litsy title." ? 1y

Ok first can we take a second to appreciate the color combo on the cover of this book about a transgender and non-binary teen?

Fun fact: this is the second book in a row I read that has no middle or end. Just beginning all the way through. It didn‘t help that the book was so short and full of background, making every page feel like the first one. Because of that and the fact that I somewhat enjoyed it, I will be reading the next. 4⭐️

Pickpick

A joyful children‘s novel about 12-year-old Montrealer Ciel, who is a gender nonbinary trans person. They have a trans girl best friend and there‘s a trans boy character too; one of the great things about this book is that it shows different ways of being trans and different choices about how that information is shared with others. Canadian author Sophie Labelle is also trans. #Translation by David Homel. #LGBTQ #Kidlit

Ciel, the gender nonconforming trans kid in Sophie Labelle's novel is afraid of racoons, so I smiled to see this cartoon image on Labelle's twitter feed.

When I came out of my mother‘s stomach, the doctor exclaimed, “It‘s a boy!” But he didn‘t take the trouble to ask me what I thought, which isn‘t very nice, especially since I‘ve never really been a boy.
