Miss Seeton Draws the Line
Miss Seeton Draws the Line | Heron Carvic
2 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
Miss Seeton's every attempt at a portrait of little Effie Goffer has become a chilling picture of a corpse. Is Miss Seeton actually drawing a clue to a series of child murders in rural England? And can she turn from sketching to catching a skilled killer?

Pickpick

A series of child murders, and the Sup. Delphick, without any leads, grasped at a straw by requesting Miss Seeton draw one of the child victims. A newspaper caught wind of the experiment and stationed a reporter on the scene to see what the “Battling Brolly” may be up to. It turns out, Miss S‘ village is about to become the center of attention (again!)

I didn‘t enjoy this one quite as much as the first, partially due to the subject matter ⬇️

mabell and partially that there was a little too much going on. I enjoyed seeing the development/participation of the characters from the first and seeing how new characters may join the village fold. ⬇️ 2y
mabell I just found a bit a trivia looking up the publication dates! The author Heron Carvic, Geoffrey Rupert William Harris was an English author and actor, who voiced “Gandalf” in the BBC reenactment of the Hobbit for radio. I have books 1-3, and Heron Carvic wrote 5. The popularity of the series led to other titles being written after his death. 2y

Mehso-so

The second in the series. It's a decent British cozy with Miss Seeton up to her usual hijinks that she doesn't cause but that seem to happen to her or around her. The village gossip mill was even better this time.
