I love cozy minimalism & collecting things with a deep meaning, not accumulating clutter. This book uses that mindset for seasonal decoration. It emphasizes focusing on things like food & mood for get together. Pick a large decoration or one or two statement pieces instead of a bunch of knickknacks. I love that she suggests changing out throws, pillow covers, linens in between seasons, to mark the change instead of putting out cheap decorations.

Super excited! I bought this Kindle secondhand for $20 and it came with a case! 🤓 now I can read my library books in bed without disturbing anyone 🥳

Crazeedi A kindle is great for that purpose! 2y
StaceGhost @Crazeedi yes! The only purpose because Jeff Bezos won‘t be getting any book sales from me! I‘m sure he‘s really worried about it but it‘s the principle of the thing lol 2y
Crazeedi @StaceGhost such a great idea! 2y

I'm not someone who is naturally very gifted at decorating, but I still want to have a house with seasonal decorations. This book does a great job about how to put together seasonal decor without having to buy a lot of things or do an overwhelming amount of work. I'm excited to put the ideas into practice.

TheAromaofBooks I haven't read this one yet but I really enjoyed one of Smith's other books. I love her emphasis on creating spaces that work & are welcoming for you & your family. Her suggestion to go through your house & think about the purpose for each space & to only leave things in that area that serve that purpose really have helped me organize/declutter. 3y
