This book is important and powerful, along with being beautifully written. Kazim is a child of Indian immigrants, born in London but grew up in Canada and the US. When he started school his father worked for Manitoba Power putting in a dam and they lived in a tiny town of Jenpeg (created for the workers and their families). He returns to the unseeded tribal land and sees what has happened to the indigenous people that still live there.

This book is so good!! Why am I the first to post about it?? A man is called back to a place that doesn‘t exist anymore in northern Manitoba to try to find where he belongs.
