That‘s another reading year done. I don‘t set reading goals, but I‘m mighty glad I sailed on past my TBR reduction goal and destroyed the thing once and for all. Now I can read whatever the hell I want.

I want to keep reading diversely in 2022, and I hope I can stick to reading purchases (and freebies, and ARCs) as soon as they come in. That‘s it. No other goals.

SRWCF ❤️ it! I don't set reading goals either. For me, it seems the moment the words leave my mouth, it's almost guaranteed that I won't meet any goals uttered. 😆 2y
xicanti @SRWCF yep. I don‘t want to push on through just to hit a numerical target, either. Too much pressure. 2y
SRWCF @xicanti so true! I can be stubborn when it comes to expectations, especially my own! 2y

Well, I officially spent more on books in the 2nd quarter of 2021 than I did in all of 2020. I always knew this was gonna be an expensive time, what with a new volume of SKIP BEAT! by Yoshiki Nakamura and MISTER IMPOSSIBLE by Maggie Stiefvater on my must-buy list, but I didn‘t expect I‘d need to fill a huge gap in my library‘s SKIP BEAT! collection before I could continue my epic reread. That extra $20 hurt AND sucked up a gift card I‘d saved. 😔

May stats. This is the most audiobooks I‘ve ever read in a month. I dunno how that happened.

I CAN say the huge overall number is partly due to awesome rereads and partly due to our terrible provincial situation. I stayed home (or wandered around outdoors) all month.

My 5-star reads were the tagged book and FROM THE ROOTS UP by Spillet & Donovan. I also found three 4.5ers: SOULSTAR, THE CALCULATING STARS, and THE WITNESS FOR THE DEAD.

I woke up and decided to reread the 5-star comic I finished last night. Sometimes these things are necessary.

Larkken At first those ice cubes looked like dumplings 😅 not gonna lie, was kind of intrigued 3y
xicanti @Larkken dumpling tea would definitely be something intriguing! 3y

Seriously, how‘m I supposed to sleep after this? HOW?!?

(If you‘ve un-spoilered this out of curiosity and you need context, these two have been in 100% requited but unconfessed love for AGES, with good reasons for the lack of confession on both sides, and they‘re each convinced they‘re deluding themselves when the other lets their true feelings slip out a bit, and I try not to ship stuff but I DO SHIP IT I DO and now Ren‘s confessed and 😭😭😭.)

OMG Y‘ALL I HAVE TOO MANY EMOTIONS FOR PUNCTUATION OR SMALL LETTERS I AM OVERFUCKINGCOME.

I mean, whoa. WHOA.

We‘ve gotta be moving into the final act now. Everything‘s lining up. Shit is MOVING.

But hey, Nakamura‘s pacing being what it is, I imagine there‘s still a fair few volumes to go. Especially if Kyoko responds counter to how we all hope she does.

5 stars. Also, many exclamation points. And I TOTALLY forgot to breathe for a bit there.
