Mehso-so

I don‘t really feel I can hold it against this book that I didn‘t like it because it did exactly what it said on the tin. I suppose I was hoping for a post-Bridgerton read to fill the void but this crossed from silly and escapist to just quite wooden and bad. I‘m pretty permissive about historical accuracy and I don‘t get furious about people lacing dresses up wrong etc but this was Too Much For Me

Pickpick

4/5

Kieran has been able to live his life the way he wants, until his behavior goes too far, and he must get married within a year or else he will lose his family's financial support. Celeste has never been allowed to live as she'd like, forced to ensure her family's social standing. Kieran needs Celeste's help to fix his reputation, and Celeste would like to experience something new.

There's also a very nice reference to Beverly Jenkins.

tpixie Lol I read the author as Vivian Leigh- aka Scarlett O‘Hara- and thought that‘s a perfect title for her, she knew Rhett Butler! 3y
sebrittainclark @tpixie 😆😆 there's another author whose name is very similar to a character in a romance series and it throws me every time I see it 2y
