A touching and heartwarming picture book about adoption, acceptance, and inclusion. A Crocodile in the Family is a charming childrens story about a family of birds who stumble across a lone egg in the Australian bush. After taking it home to care for the egg themselves, they discover its actually a baby crocodile! The bird family raises the baby crocodile as one of their own, and as their community continues to ask questions about their reason why they keep him, the family says the answer is simple. Because he belongs, thats why! With a story that captures your heart and stunning illustrations, A Crocodile in the Family is the perfect childrens book about what makes a blended family so beautiful.

Donuts are the theme of the day. This book is adorable, and hysterical. It's about belonging.

A bird family finds an egg, takes it home and lets it hatch. Turns out it‘s a crocodile, but instead of turning him away, they keep him, and he is family. All the other animals in the bush may wonder why, but the family has no need to wonder, Croc is family and he belongs. This is a wonderful allegory of an adoption story. It shows that belonging is all that matters. Someone isn‘t “kept” because they are useful or fun.

LibrarianRyan They are kept because they are family and they belong. The message of this book is absolutely wonderful and the bright colorful graphics help bring up the funny and make this book truly a joy to read. 2y
