WooHoo! My wild New Year‘s Eve means I finished my #foodandlit book for the Philippines. I made Veganized dinner- Lechón Paksiw made with jackfruit instead of pork, Filipino fried rice- with cabbage, peas and carrots (but no meat) Rambuton stuffed with pineapple and steamed buns with ude jam. I liked this book- I truly felt like it gave me a taste of the culture and mythology.

Bookwormjillk Very cool! 2y

mabell Wow! How neat! What was your favorite? 2y
Chrissyreadit @mabell the fruit was delicious- out of a can but so so good. And the fried rice (it was cauliflower rice) with jackfruit was also delicious. I loved learning to use my instant pot to steam buns. But I did not like the buns. 2y
Chrissyreadit @mabell what is your weekend like? 2y
mabell I‘ve heard good things about that fruit! I‘ll have to seek it out. It‘s been years since I‘ve had steamed buns. I really liked them, but they have to be just right on consistency, temperature, amount of filling, etc. 2y
mabell Pretty quiet! Rich delicious food. 😊 But it‘s raining today, and my family 2 hours north are getting snow. 😭 2y
Chrissyreadit @mabell these were plain, no filling. Raining here too. 2y
