#OnThisDay in 1903, Norris Frank Davey was born in Hamilton, NZ. As an adult, he would change his name to Frank Sargeson to honour a beloved uncle (and escape a pesky criminal conviction). It was under this name that he would become known for his short stories depicting NZ life, and is seen as the first to introduce New Zealand speech patterns, slang, and colloquialisms into his work. #HistoryGetsLIT
