#OnThisDay in 1903, Norris Frank Davey was born in Hamilton, NZ. As an adult, he would change his name to Frank Sargeson to honour a beloved uncle (and escape a pesky criminal conviction). It was under this name that he would become known for his short stories depicting NZ life, and is seen as the first to introduce New Zealand speech patterns, slang, and colloquialisms into his work. #HistoryGetsLIT

Book haul from the second hand bookshop on my northern holiday. If you can‘t see the title that‘s a Doris Lessing autobiography in the top left called “Under my Skin”. Hopefully get to these before…. 2025? Maybe? 😂😂

LeahBergen What a lovely book haul! And lucky you to go out for a bit of book shopping. 😊 2y
