pickRead for book tour review this week. Sarah, a young artist in the 1920s studying Modernism in Paris goes to Caramel-by-the-Sea to discover the truth about her famous artist older sister‘s death, ruled as a suicide. Tagged as a historical mystery & historical literary fiction, for me it works more as the later as the mystery seemed too obvious. But I loved the descriptions of the artist colony in Carmel & the struggles of women to find a place in⬇️
DebinHawaii … despite the misogyny, sexism & racism that permeated the times. I learned a lot about art & the arts especially in that decade & it made me Google for more info.
