Degas and Cassatt - The Dance of Solitude
Degas and Cassatt - The Dance of Solitude | Rubio Salva
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
Founder of the Impressionist movement of which he was one of the most merciless critics, too bohemian for the bourgeois and too bourgeois for the artists, Edgar Degas was a man of many paradoxes. A loner, he loved only one woman without ever courting her. Looking into this unique relationship at the twilight of Degas' life, Efa and Rubio open the pages of the artist's notebooks hoping to unravel the mystery of this genius full of contradictions.

Thank you, NetGalley for the chance to read and review this.

This was a very pretty book. I feel like the illustrations were really appropriate given the artists featured in this book; Degas, Cassat and Monet. While the book really focuses on Degas and his life, one that was getting more and more lonely, I loved that Cassat had was such a strong presence.
