Pickpick

Stunning illustrations in this picture book about a Black family in the Dominican Republic immigrating (presumably) to the US. Although I liked the concept of the planes being dragons and the girl Anita being a princesa, the story itself felt a bit lackluster. It felt more focused on a theme rather than a plot -- which is fine but doesn't make a very engaging picture book for the intended age group, in my opinion.
