Ahh, I wish this wasn't the last book in this series! It was the perfect mix of mystery and history with a smidgeon of romance. I really enjoyed how the author captured Daphne du Maurier as a budding author and an amateur sleuth. The nod to Rebecca, a favourite book of mine, was effective. I loved how Challis tied this novel's events together so well with du Maurier's real life. An enjoyable read. 4/5⭐️

TiredLibrarian Can this be read as a standalone? 3y
PurpleyPumpkin @TiredLibrarian Yes, I think it definitely can be a standalone read. Honestly, I read the two previous books some time ago and didn‘t quite remember all of the events. That did not detract from my enjoyment of this story whatsoever. 3y
TiredLibrarian @PurpleyPumpkin Good to know! Added to the TBR list 📚😊 3y
